Our ‘Year 12 and beyond’ Conference will focus on developing students’ study skills and preparing them for their future and will include a range of mini lectures and activities.
The first part of the day will focus on pupils’ current studies and will cover topics such as academic writing, revision techniques and note taking skills these sessions will be run by Aston’s Learning Development Centre which provides study support to our current students.
The second part of the conference will introduce students to the UCAS process and website, explaining how the system works and helping them to understand the stages in the application process for university. Following on from this, students will participate in a session focusing on what they should be doing in Year 12 to enhance their university applications, personal statements and CVs, ensuring they make the most of the opportunities available.
The conference will end with sessions run by our Careers, Placements and Employability Team. These sessions will encourage students to understand how to write a good CV and how to develop their interview techniques, equipping students with valuable skills for their future.
