Students will gain knowledge of :
- The relationships between societies, individuals, cultures and groups.
- The nature of social divisions, social inequalities and their relationships to social identities, the nature of societies, identities and processes of criminalisation and social control.
- The ways in which Sociology is concerned with understanding and explaining how societies and communities operate, including the influence of power, social movements, interpersonal relationships, health and wellbeing, constructions of identity and identity politics, crime and criminalisation.
