Event Summary:
Newman University Sport department are hosting FREE taster days on Wednesday 4th & Wednesday 11th November.
They will run from 9.30am until 2.30pm and will be a great chance for your students to learn a little bit more about what University life is all about at Newman.
Full Event Details:
The day will be structured so that students are able to participate in different taster sessions focusing on the below key areas:
-Biomechanics – a session in the high performance lab will give students the chance to try out 3D Motion capture equipment.
-Sport Psychology – a taster lecture about the psychological needs of athletes and why Sport Psychology is such a rapidly expanding sector.
-Sport Coaching Science – Focusing on the importance of developing coaching and teaching skills enabling delivery across a range of ages and levels.
-Q&A Session with Sport Students – hear directly from Newman students what it’s like to study at Newman.
There will be a free lunch and refreshments provided for teachers, students can choose to bring their own lunch or purchase some food from our Sanctuary Restaurant or Starbucks coffee shop which both have a great choice.
Places will be booked and confirmed as they are received and are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Maximum allocation per school or college is 15 students plus teachers.
