Full event details

The session will introduce the basic principles behind rocket launches – the forces involved in getting the rocket off the ground! Short videos will be used to show the recent history and possible future of space flight, as well as simple activities to illustrate the scale of the Universe.
The students will build their own “film canister” demos to illustrate the principle of launch, and go on to design and build their own card/paper rockets. They will then be able to launch them, using a compressed air rocket launcher, and learn how to maximise the range. Student helpers will be involved.
