Full event details

We are delighted to invite you and your Level 3 Health & Social Care students to our Health & Wellbeing Subject Conference. This free conference is designed to supplement your students’ current or future studies by focusing on two areas of specialism at Liverpool Hope University.

These conferences will be taking place on:
Wednesday 21st January 2015 & Wednesday 28th January.
From 2pm – 4.30pm at our Hope Park Campus, Hope Park, Liverpool, L16 9JD.

The schedule for the day is as follows:
1.30pm – 2pm Arrival at Hope. The Conference will begin promptly at 2pm.

2pm – 2.15pm Welcome to Liverpool Hope and our Health & Wellbeing course.

2.15pm – 3.15pm Social Issues and Health
An interactive session looking at some of the key social causes of health in the UK. The session will explore how important individual behaviours are for health and why different patterns of behaviour are seen amongst different social groups.

3.15pm – 4.15pm Understanding Disability
An interactive session looking at different approaches to disability. The session will explore the different ways that disability is shown through the media e.g. newspaper articles and the impact this has on disabled people.

4.15pm – 4.30pm Closing Address and Q & A
4.30pm Depart Hope
