This course offers students the chance to look at language and cultural studies from a new perspective, concentrating on the vibrantly rich cultural regions of Africa, Asia and the Near and Middle East. This course will give an introduction to the study of African, Asian, Near and Middle Eastern languages, and how they relate to the study of culture, both past and present. The following languages will be on offer for an introductory session: Arabic, Chinese, Hausa, Hindi, Japanese, Korean, Swahili, Thai, Turkish
