A higher education update for students considering university from 2021 entry onwards. Will entry be more competitive? How to prepare? Featuring the University of Bath
This is a guide for students who are considering applying to university in 2021-22. The event is hosted by Jon Cheek who addresses current concerns that students have regarding university as well as questions and queries which are answered by Robbie. One of the concerns many people have is what are universities doing for teaching and learning.
Robbie explains how teaching and learning is now more isolated with less face-to-face interactions. The style of learning that many universities now use is blended learning and Robbie talks about what this is and how it works. He also covers universities’ approach to results day and changes in how student applications are assessed based off results. He also touches on how open days have changed for students who wish to apply to university and where to access more information regarding this matter.
One of the main concern’s students have is whether it will be harder to get into university next year, states Jon. This will vary course to course and university to university and Robbie highlights courses and universities’ which may face this issue. Finally, Robbie goes into detail on how to maximise your chances of being given an offer next year for university. Session summary from Rubaya Zaman, a final year English Literature student at the University of Birmingham.
