Welcome to Study Higher – a partnership of universities, further education colleges and other stakeholders working together to provide young people with high quality impartial advice and guidance about education opportunities.
There are two distinct strands to the work that Study Higher delivers across four regions; Swindon, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire. These two strands are: targeted outreach and the outreach hub.
Our targeted outreach is for young people in school years 9 -13 who live in specific geographical areas across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, and Swindon. These wards have been identified by our funders, the Office for Students, and we focus on areas where there is typically lower progression to higher education. Schools with a high percentage of target pupils are eligible for our extensive programme of activity, which includes support from one of our Higher Education Liaison Officers (HELOs). HELOs ensure that schools are aware of outreach opportunities available and that activity is tailored to meet the needs of both the school and pupils.
The outreach hub support is available to schools and colleges in the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Swindon regions and in particular supporting students living in areas with low rates of participation in higher education. The outreach hub has three main strands: Signposting, Support and Strategic Engagement.
