The University of Surrey is one of the UK’s top professional, scientific and technological universities.
With students from over 120 different countries, we’re proud to be one of the most culturally-diverse universities in the UK.
The University’s beautiful campus offers students the best of both worlds. Our safe, self-contained student community is just ten minutes’ walk from Guildford town centre and it takes just 34 minutes to reach London.
2017 marked our 50th year in Guildford and we’re proud of our rich heritage and the positive impact we’ve had on the world. As a research-intensive University, we are committed to interacting with the best researchers on the global stage to address issues affecting mankind. We owe our success to the strength of our research, teaching, innovation and enterprise, and the extraordinary achievements of our staff students and alumni.
The University of Surrey has received a prestigious Gold award in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Based on the evidence available, the TEF Panel judged that the University of Surrey delivers consistently outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for its students. It is of the highest quality found in the UK.
Providing a high-quality student experience is at the very heart of the University. As part of that commitment, we invest heavily in the University’s facilities. Since 2000, our estate has been transformed through a £400 million building development and improvement programme – including £130 million on student accommodation, £36 million on Surrey Sports Park, £16 million on the new Library and Learning Centre and £4.5 million on the Ivy Arts Centre.
The University of Surrey has a strong focus on and an outstanding record for graduate employability. We are unique in providing Professional Training placements to almost all of our undergraduates, regardless of their degree subject. Over the past five years, more than 2,300 partner organisations have worked with us to give our students valuable work placements in the UK and abroad.
