UniExperience Residential Dates:
9th - 5th July 2013
or 16th - 19th July 2013
The residential UniExperience includes going to academic subject workshops, staying in student accommodation, and the chance to learn more about the issues which concern University students such as finance, careers and what courses are available.
It is planned to give the students the opportunity to experience a wide variety of academic subjects including Biological Sciences, Health and Social Care, Marine Navigation, Sustainability, Business, and Drama. Sessions will be informative and practical, with input from lecturers as well as current students. There will be plenty of hands-on activities as well as some ‘lecture style’ sessions. Most sessions will be delivered on campus but some will be off-site, commonly known as field trips
Each day will run from approximately 9.30am – 4pm, and all meals, refreshments, evening activities and accommodation will be provided free of charge. Transport to and from the University will be arranged.
The UniExperience is open to students from the South West, with priority being given to students from Cornwall and Devon. To be eligible to apply the applicants must still be in full time education, in Year 12 (or equivalent), and under 18 on the last day of the UniExperience, have the desire to go onto higher education, be enthusiastic about finding out more about Higher Education, and meet at least one of the following criteria:
