The basic assumption is that fonts and graphic styles aren't neutral. When you see a certain typeface, your brain connects it to things you've seen before – times, places, brands, music genres, political movements. Sticker makers deliberately mix these visual references to create new meanings. Why does this matter? In modern society everyone is surrounded by thousands of designed messages every day competing for attention. Graphic designers shape how people understand the world and behave in it – from what to buy, to what to believe, to how one sees oneself. Understanding visual codes means one can interpret these messages, question them, and create one's own.
