This event is a collaboration between the School of East Asian Studies at the University of Sheffield together with The Japan Society of the UK and supported by The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
It will be a day for sixth-form and college students to participate in cultural workshops including calligraphy, language tasters, and a panel discussion where they will learn about the exciting paths they can take by studying Japanese at University.
Whether you're interested in Japan, are already learning Japanese, or maybe are complete beginners, everyone is welcome!
This will be a great opportunity to learn more about studying Japanese (or Japanese alongside other subjects) at universities.
Travel Bursaries are also available
To ensure this event is accessible for everyone, The Japan Society, with support from the Great British Sasakawa Foundation, are able to provide a limited number of travel bursaries to students who may require financial support in order to be able to attend this event. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to cover the full amount of the travel costs, however if your application is successful, you will receive the bursary in advance of the event. The bursary must be spent on travel-related expenses only and attendance to the event will be mandatory. Failure to do so will result in repayment of the bursary to The Japan Society.
