Full event details

This taster session will introduce Journalism as a career, explain how reporters gather news and highlight the ethical dilemma's journalists face when covering stories, using examples from the news that week.

We will also be having group debates around the subject of ethics, privacy and celebrity. Students will be given a number of scenarios and asked 'What would you do?' (either in breakout groups or as a whole group, depending on numbers). After that, Lisa will talk through some real-world examples of ethical dilemmas she faced in the news room, asking participants what they might have done in her position.

Students are encouraged to have read the news headlines for that week before attending the session.
