While it might not be everyone’s idea of fun,
demand for macabre attractions and disturbing
experiences that recreate horrific moments in
history is growing – dark tourism is on the rise.

This session:
> defines dark tourism and the appeal of dark
tourist sites
> discusses how Auschwitz-Birkenau has
developed as the darkest tourist destination on
earth
> assesses how Chernobyl is paving the way for
nuclear tourism
> discusses the future of dark tourism.
