Full event details

Our BSc (Hons) Film and Video Production Technology course combines broadcast engineering, artistic storytelling and professional film making.

While you learn about the course on this day and what it is like to be at university, you will also get to experience what it could be like to work in the broadcasting industry. We have arranged a very special visit of a 16-metre outside broadcast truck with all the equipment you’d find on an outside broadcast covering a huge sports final, or entertainment like a festival or concert, using this: https://www.ctvob.co.uk/OB-Trucks/OB11-HD.

You will learn about all the roles needed behind the scenes to stream live from the truck, having the opportunity to use the cameras and sound equipment and even try out vision engineering or vision mixing. You will learn how the technical side of media, and how maths and science skills, can lead to exciting careers in the industry and take you to the front line of production. Join us for an exciting day behind the scenes of live programme-making and outside broadcasting!
