Post 16 (Yr 12/NI Yr 13) Summer University – 12-16 July

The popular summer school is returning for 2021, with students invited from across the UK to take part in our first ever virtual event of this kind. This week long event will build awareness of HE, offer opportunities for students to watch lectures and complete tasks from tutors at LJMU. Students will be able to join a special community with social activities throughout the day and evening. Students who complete the summer school may be eligible for a reduced offer of up to two grades (16 UCAS points) for 2022 entry*.
During Summer University students will:
• Complete a mix of live and on-demand lectures and seminars from Subjects at LJMU
• Complete a custom built careers quiz
• Complete interactive tasks arranged by our tutors
• Speak to current LJMU students about their experiences

Students who fully complete our Post 16 (Yr 12/NI Yr 13) Summer University may be eligible for a reduced offer if they apply to LJMU for 2022 entry.*

When do sessions take place: A mix of live sessions throughout the day and on demand content enables students to complete all sessions at times that suits them.

Who can attend: Students studying in Yr 12 (NI Yr 13) and completing Level 3 qualifications

Student criteria: Students must have the ability to progress to HE, priority will be given to students who meet the following criteria:
• Black, Asian, or minority ethnic student
• First generation to university
• Disability: seen or unseen
• Awarded free school meals
• Looked after child or has a caring responsibility
• Students attending one of LJMU’s priority widening access schools
• Students from low POLAR quintiles

*Students must be able to progress to HE, meet the criteria above, attend all sessions during the week and complete tasks by set deadline to receive offer reduction. Some courses will require interview, subject specific requirements and GCSE requirements prior to a reduced offer being given.
