Patrick Hutchinson, from the Black Lives Matter protests will join the Black Studies team to discuss the importance of education.

Patrick Hutchinson went viral for carrying a white counter-protester to safety at a BLM demonstration. He has since published Everyone Against Racism: A Letter to My Children. Patrick will join the Black Studies team, including staff and students, from Birmingham City University for an online discussion on the importance of education to social and political activism.

At BCU, we have the only Black Studies undergraduate degree courses in the UK, and we are also launching a Master's degree in the subject in September 2021. Black Studies matters in understanding the nature of our problems and, also, in helping us to find the solutions. Join us for what is certain to be a fascinating discussion about the only topic capable of competing with Covid-19 for the news headlines of 2020.
