Full event details

Philosophy is always evolving, but always concerned with deep and challenging questions. One important area of philosophy is ethics, and so naturally the many difficult ethical issues raised by the global pandemic crisis have commanded the attention of many philosophers recently.

Thinking and talking about what ought to be done in these circumstances by governments, by doctors and healthcare providers, by businesses and by individuals leads naturally into asking ‘why?’ and so into philosophical territory.

This talk looks at how philosophical theory can assist practical decision-making, and how the experience of facing ethically demanding dilemmas can improve our philosophy.

This taster will also include an introductory overview of studying at NCH, and there will be ample time for Q&A with Faculty and Student Ambassadors.
