Teachers' & Careers Advisers' Conference (London)

University event offered by University of Law

Event Summary:

We are hosting our annual Law Teachers’ & Careers Advisers’ Conference at a number of University of Law Centres (Manchester, Nottingham, London Bloomsbury & Birmingham) and would like to invite you and your colleagues to join us.

Full Event Details:

The conference will offer an informal morning of sessions and will give you the opportunity to ask questions of and network with colleagues from across the sector and staff at the University of Law. The conference will run from 09:30 – 13:30.

To ensure that you get the most out of your morning with us, we will aim to discuss the changes in the legal sector that may represent challenges and opportunities for those of your students interested in law, such as Training for Tomorrow, the SRA’s new regulations for legal education, and the burgeoning apprenticeship routes.

We will discuss how we can better prepare our students for the world of work, including making competitive applications for university and preparation for assessment on the apprenticeship route.

Alongside this, we will also aim to showcase some of the services that we can offer, including the tasters that we can provide, and will aim to answer your questions throughout the day.

Institution Profile:

We are one of the UK's longest-established specialist providers of legal education and have trained
more practising lawyers than anyone else in the UK.

At The University of Law, we believe our undergraduate students should understand how the law,
business, criminology and policing are applied in a real-world context, as well as being challenged
academically.

ULaw offers excellent employability outcomes for students; 92% of our full-time UK LLB students
graduating in 2017 secured employment or further study within six months of successfully
completing their course.

We have also achieved top ten placements among universities in the UK for 5 categories in the
National Student Survey 2019: teaching, learning opportunities, academic support, learning
resources and student voice.

What really sets us apart from other universities is the guiding principle that future lawyers and
business leaders should only ever learn in a realistic, professional and contemporary context with
plenty of practical, interactive engagement.  That's why we keep our contact hours high and our
teaching groups small.
