Congress to Campus at Liverpool John Moores University

Liverpool John Moores University are hosting a Congress to Campus event on Thursday 12th March 2020. Since 2003 the Eccles Centre for American Studies at the British Library and the US Association of Former Members of Congress have collaborated on Congress to Campus UK, a programme that brings to UK audiences men and women who have served on Capitol Hill.
Two Former Members of the US Congress will be coming to LJMU to speak to students about US politics, including Iran, 2020 elections, and Trump among many other topics.
The School of Humanities and Social Science would like to open up this event to sixth form students interested in science, social science or humanities. Your students will be able to come on to campus and have taster sessions in LJMU programmes from 10am until 12pm, before joining the session with the Former Members of Congress in the afternoon.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to visit a university and get an insider’s view of US politics. This would also be excellent experience to include in a personal statement when applying to university.
