Full Event Details:
This is a two hour-long practical painting workshop which looks at the fundamental basics of colour theory. Students are taught by a skilled practitioner from the Liverpool Hope University's Fine Art teaching staff. This painting session is framed in the art historical context of Fauvism. Students will gain an understanding of building form through the study and practice of early 1900’s Fauvist techniques, pioneered by artists such as Henri Matisse and Andre Derain. Following on from a short presentation about these artists, students will make large colourful paintings from a ready prepared studio set up.
