There are two disciplines in radiography:

• Diagnostic Radiography is the most effective and widely used procedure for diagnosing injury and disease. Techniques used within the practice of Diagnostic radiography include; X-rays, MRI scans, CT and Ultrasound.
• Therapeutic Radiography is one of the most effective treatment approaches for the treatment of cancer helping to control and cure disease. Therapeutic Radiographers use complex equipment including linear accelerators, CT scanners but also need excellent interpersonal skills to support patients undergoing treatment.

Every day radiographers save lives. Students studying on either of our radiography courses work with the latest technology and facilities within our cutting edge Clinical Skills Suite. City, University of London is rated 1st in London for Medical Technology by the Complete University Guide 2020, and 1st in London for overall student satisfaction in Medical Technology by the latest National Student Survey.

This taster course is only open to students in year 12. Students should have, or be looking to achieve the following grades; A Level - BBC or a combination of 'A' levels and other relevant qualifications, A Levels must include one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics. All students require a minimum of five GCSE passes at grade 4 (C) or above, including English Language, Mathematics and Science (Physics is preferred).

Taster days and sessions will allow you to:

- Experience first-hand our excellent and diverse teaching methods offered by our Schools
- Meet our highly experienced academic staff
- Meet our current students and find out about their experiences in your subject of interest
- Explore our state of the art facilities on campus in the heart of London.

Our subject taster days are in the style of mock lectures, practical workshops and group work sessions designed to introduce students to a variety of academic disciplines.

These talks are designed for groups of Year 12 and 13 students with a general interest in Higher Education and who, ideally, would be expecting to meet the City entry requirements for their chosen programme.

**School Visits to City University, London**
School visits are an excellent opportunity for your students to see what a city-based institution is really like. We offer bespoke visits to campus for your students to experience life at City, University of London. These visits can be tailored to your individual requirements.

They are generally made up of UCAS sessions and subject tasters.

**Subject specific talks**
We can also arrange subject specific talks, delivered by City, University of London's lecturers. If you would like to involve our lecturers in your next round of subject talks, please do get in touch and we will aim to support your programme of events.

These talks are designed for groups of Year 12 and Year 13 students with a specific subject interest, who would be expected to meet the entry requirements for their appropriate programme.

This is a free service and most sessions last between 30 minutes and one hour, although it is possible to alter the sessions depending upon the needs of the school/college.
