Engineering the Future - HS2 and Beyond (Engineering and ESM Taster Day)

HS2 is one of the largest engineering projects to be undertaken in Birmingham in recent years, with a budget of £56bn, involving a huge variety of skilled professions. The project will have an enormous effect on the city centre landscape and on the surrounding areas. What will this mean for you? How will it affect your city, your future and more importantly, what possibilities could it have for your future career?

It’s your choice – this taster session by Aston University, available for Year 12 and 13 students, will bring together civil engineering, construction project management, transport and supply chain management. Using HS2 as a case study throughout, you will get hands-on building tunnels, planning routes and learning the skills involved in planning and delivering transformational transport engineering projects.
