Thinking about law, thinking like a lawyer:

This 90-minute interactive session introduces students to the role of lawyers and the ways in which lawyers think. The session is delivered by an academic and a legal practitioner and engages students in a number of activities which encourage students to use their existing skills to solve legal problems. The session ends with a mock trial where students apply their skills to complex cases. This session can be tailored for students from Year 10 to Year 12.

The sessions can be delivered on Wednesday afternoons from 12:30.

Learning Objectives (Linked to the Aimhigher Plus Progression Framework Learning Outcomes):
- To support the learner to feel motivated and confident (As 3.1)
- Recognise the importance of succeeding at school (At 3.1)
- Recognise that GCSE and post 16 qualifications are required to access HE (At 3.2)
- Recognise how post 16 choices impact on future progression (Aw 4.1)
- Understand the necessity of HE for progression to certain careers ((Aw 4.2)
