Event Summary:

Our Subject Taster Days give students the opportunity to find out about subjects they could study at university and the careers to which they might lead. Students work with experienced staff and current students from a variety of academic disciplines, taking part in lectures, practical workshops and group work sessions.

Full Event Details:

This day will run from 10am - 3pm.

The Department of Computer Science provides degrees in areas of computer science including Computer Science and Mathematics, Computing, Web Design and Development, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, Forensics and Cyber Security, Games Programming, Information Technology and Computer Networking. Students on undergraduate programmes complete a shared first year to gain a solid foundation for the second and third years of the degree, studying topics from fundamentals of analysis and construction of systems to multimedia technologies. The interactive sessions that take place on the Subject Taster Day will be based around these shared topics and sessions may include:

• Ethical Hacking
• Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality
• Robotics and Artificial Intelligence
• Data Science
• Web Development and Web Gaming

Bookings by Teachers for Key Stage 5 (Students aged 16-18)
Individuals (Enquiry not required to be through a school)
