We run subject workshops for Year 12 students which can be delivered at your school or college or at City, University of London.
ACTUARIAL SCIENCE AT CITY
The skills you gain on the Actuarial Science undergraduate course will kickstart your actuarial career. You can also enter careers in risk management, investment management or financial analysis. If you enjoy mathematics, statistics, probability and economics you will find this course ideal.

ACTIVITY DETAILS:
Our Actuarial Science department run a variety of sessions available for schools and colleges, including talks on what it is like to study actuarial science at university and taster lectures to give students a feel for university-level study in the subject.
We run the following session types:
- TASTER SESSION: We run interactive taster sessions that introduce students to studying actuarial science at university level.
- WHY STUDY TALK: We can run a session which introduces the subject of actuarial science, what it's like to study this subject at university, and different career paths in this field.

WHO CAN BOOK THESE EVENTS
- This event is only for teachers making bookings for their school groups.
- These workshops are only suitable for year 12 and 13 (pre UCAS deadline) students.

Visits to City including department sessions usually last a half day. We usually include a why study talk, a taster session and a campus tour.

HOW MUCH DO THESE ACTIVITIES COST
- All of our activities are free!
- However we unfortunately cannot cover transport or food costs for school groups if you're visiting City's campus.
WHERE IS CITY LOCATED?
- City is based in Central London, so we do not have anywhere for coaches to park.
- We are located a short walk from Farringdon (Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle, Elizabeth, Thameslink and Great Northern lines) and Angel (Northern Line) stations
All activities are subject to availability of City staff. Whilst we do our best to accommodate requests, we reserve the right to decline bookings if we do not have capacity to deliver them.
