Full event details

The content includes an introduction to the student loan system, how students pay for their higher education, how repayments work after a student graduates and the costs students can expect if they participate in higher education.

Why?
One of the most common reasons why a student does not apply to university is that they believe they cannot afford to do so. This may be the result of negative media coverage around student debts, or even people telling them “you can’t afford university”.

This session will introduce the student financial support available, reinforcing the message that students are not charged on the day they start university, rather they are charged based on what they earn after they graduate. The independent talk is designed to be both motivational and aspirational for students.

Where?
This session can be delivered at your institution or at the university.

When?
Available upon request throughout the year.

Number of students?
This session is suitable for group sizes ranging from 15 to 40 students.

Year group:
Year 9, 10, 11 and 12. The session content is different based on the year group it is delivered for.

Additional info: This free session is sponsored by the Higher Horizons+ network and is provided through UniTasterDays, who offer award winning resources for schools.
