Find out how City's 100 years of experience in delivering courses in Civil Engineering is evolving to include a brand new specialised course in Structural Engineering and how we can help you embark on an exciting career within the industry by joining our graduates who already hold successful and prominent positions around the world. You will take a tour around our newly refurbished and extensive laboratory facilities finding out how they are used to support your learning, our research and industry to gain better understanding of problems such as construction of new train and escalator tunnels and how deep excavations interact with the surrounding buildings of London and elsewhere. You will also get involved in fun activities such as designing, building and testing a model bridge before getting feedback from a Structural Engineer about how it failed and what could be done to improve your design.


This taster course is open to year 12 students or anyone who is thinking of starting their undergraduate studies in September 2018. Students must currently be studying mathematics and preferably physics at AS/A level or equivalent.

When applying to this taster course you will be asked to submit in no more than 150 words why you are interested in studying this subject. You will be selected for this event based on your answer.
