Full event details

‘You’re not getting in looking like that: John Godber’s Bouncers at 40’ will be presented by Liverpool Hope University’s Deputy Head of Drama, Dance & Performance Studies, Dr John Bennett, who starred in the original production of Bouncers in 1977 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This lecture will explore the performative aspects of Bouncers and how it has evolved, whilst remaining relevant over the years. Dr John Bennett is a world-leading expert on John Godber, and the playwright is a Visiting Professor at Liverpool Hope University.
This event will take place at our Creative Campus, Shaw Street, Liverpool, L6 1HP, which is home to all of our performing arts subjects and our 280 seater Capstone Theatre, which hosts a variety of events each year. Set in beautiful grounds, close to Liverpool city centre, the Creative Campus is the ideal learning environment for students interested in the creative arts. Liverpool Hope University is 1st in the North West and 4th in the UK for overall Student Satisfaction from the 2016 National Student Survey. The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017 names Liverpool Hope University 2nd in the UK for teaching excellence and 1st in the North West student experience, with the University being rated in the top 50 of UK universities.

If you or any of your students would like to attend the conference or you have any questions please email Andrew Cooper, Recruitment Officer, at [email protected] or call 0151 291 3111 by a week in advance of each session.
