This session explores the ways in which cars feed into sociological areas of investigation.

In particular, this session discusses research around car culture in the city of Bradford, paying attention to taste, car customisation and the stereotypes which permeate broader views around certain types of cars and their owners. As such, we'll explore how ideas around identity can be transmitted, sometimes with the aid of existing stereotypes around age (especially younger people), ethnicity as well as criminality.
