University event offered by University of Southampton

Event Summary:

A widening participation programme that provides sustained support, comprising of a summer school, academic assignment, mentoring, potential additional admissions consideration and a scholarship.

Full Event Details:

At the University of Southampton we are committed to recruiting talented students who have the potential to succeed at the University regardless of their educational or social background or personal circumstances. A2S is designed to provide additional support and consideration to students in Year 12 who meet two or more of our eligibility criteria (which can be found on our website).
The A2S programme consists of a 2 day summer school where you will be involved in subject focussed sessions, as well as gain advice and guidance about studying at University level. The summer school will take place in July 2017.
As part of the scheme you will also undertake an academic assignment which will assess your potential for study at a Russell Group University, and give you an insight into what an undergraduate style assignment is like.
Those that successfully pass the assignment will then receive mentoring from a University of Southampton student, as well as further support with the transition to University. You could also be eligible for additional consideration in the admission process through the A2S programme.
Students who go on to enrol at Southampton will also be eligible for a £1000 A2S scholarship in their first year of study.
More information and the online application form can be found on our website. Applications for the programme close on 19th May 2017.
