This class will offer students a chance to join members of the Department of English and Comparative Literature as they examine Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road - which is, incidentally, one of the newer additions to the A Level syllabus.

Full Event Details:

By offering a comprehensive overview of the religious, cultural, narratological and political impulses that shape the book, the class will ensure that interested students are ideally placed to write original and erudite essays about this exciting new book.

The masterclass will identify the major themes and symbols found in McCarthy's text, will steer students towards original and rigorous close analysis of the text, and will provide a list of topics for further study.
