We are delighted to invite you and your Level 3 Politics students to our Subject Conferences hosted by the Department of History and Politics. These free conferences are designed to supplement your students’ current or future studies.

1.30pm-2pm Arrival at Hope. The Conference will begin promptly at 2pm. Lunch facilities are available if students arrive early.
2pm – 2.15pm Welcome to Liverpool Hope
2.15pm-3.15pm The challenges facing the Trump presidency: the power of the presidential office Following the election of Trump questions have arisen about the power and credibility of the office of The US president. This talk looks at the outcomes of a disputed election, division among the populace and the policy positions facing Trump.
3.15pm-4.15pm Feminism in the contemporary world
The session will explore the usefulness of notions of patriarchy and gender to have a more holistic understanding of the contemporary world, for example in terms of political leadership, contemporary conflicts and the world economy.
4.15pm – 4.30pm Closing Address and Q & A
