After last year’s success in running these performances across schools and colleges, The University of Northampton’s 3rd year BA Acting students are touring their FREE Shakespeare performance and accompanying workshop, for sixth form Drama, Performing Arts or English students, to be delivered at your school/college.
Full Event Details:
This is a project led by the BA Acting students at the University of Northampton. One of the specialisms of the course is Shakespeare, and the students study and perform in various plays by Shakespeare.
Students will create a 40 minute piece of theatre which examines themes and characters in various Shakespeare plays. Some students choose to show extracts from different plays that have been cleverly woven together for their similarities/differences. Others may choose to edit a play to create an accessible version of one play.
Our students will then lead a 40 minute long workshop which will help to investigate the themes of the play that they have just shown to their audience. This will be interactive and will allow your students to be up on their feet exploring Shakespeare in action. Workshops may be subject to maximum student numbers and timings can be flexible to meet your needs. Please contact the team if you wish to discuss a tailored booking.
