Liverpool Hope University is 1st in the North West and 4th in the UK for overall Student Satisfaction from the 2016 National Student Survey. The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2017 names Liverpool Hope University 2nd in the UK for teaching excellence and 1st in the North West for student experience, with the University being rated within the top 50 of UK universities.

Our Art & Design History subject conference is on Wednesday 23rd November 2016 from 2pm – 4pm at our Creative Campus, Shaw Street, Liverpool, L6 1HP.

2pm-2.15pm Welcome to Liverpool Hope
2.15pm-3pm Studying Art and Design History at Degree
Introduction to the Art and Design History looking at various aspects, such as the discipline itself, how museums and galleries work, Professional Practice, assignments and career pathways for Art & Design History graduates
3pm-3.15pm Break
3.15pm-4pm Early Twentieth Century Art - European Avant-Gardes
This lecture will consider the early twentieth-century European avant-garde movements and consider their relation to the key idea of ‘expression’. Taking the manifestos of these movements as a starting point, the lecture will explore key ideas relating to the early-twentieth century avant-garde, such as primitivism and the role of the artist.
