We are delighted to invite you and your Level 3 students to our Law subject conference. This free conference is designed to supplement your students’ current or future studies and provide students with an insight into studying Law at Undergraduate level.
This conference will be taking place on:
Wednesday 11th January 2017
From 2pm – 4.30pm at our Hope Park Campus, Hope Park, Liverpool, L16 9JD.
The schedule for the day is as follows:
1pm-2pm Optional Campus Tour (Please advise if you would like to book spaces on a tour)
1.30pm-2pm Arrival at Hope. The Conference will begin promptly at 2pm. Lunch facilities are available if students arrive early.
2pm – 2.15pm Welcome to Liverpool Hope
2.15pm-3.15pm What is the right/just thing to do?
An exploration of the motivations, intuitions and restraints which apply to human behaviour and will employ a comparison of various philosophical justifications for action or inaction
3.15pm – 4.15pm How does “Justice” work in Criminal Law
Murder Scenarios – What is the right thing to do?
The group will be presented with two scenario of humans behaving “in extremis” to explore what moral / legal code should apply and why.
4.15pm – 4.30pm Closing Address and Q & A
4.30pm Depart Hope
