It is an exciting time for the department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Over the last few years we’ve introduced degrees in Mathematics, Electronic Engineering and MEng Electronic and Computer Engineering. Liverpool Hope University is ranked as 1st in the North West and 4th in the UK for overall Student Satisfaction from the 2016 National Student Survey. Computer Science achieved a 100% satisfaction rating from our students.
All conferences will take place at our Hope Park campus, Liverpool, L16 9JD. Please note, due to the interactive nature of each Conference we have a limited number of places available so early booking is advised.

Our Mathematics Taster season will take place on Wednesday 16th November 2016 from 2pm – 4.30pm

1.30pm – 2pm Arrival at Hope. The Conference will begin promptly at 2 pm.
2pm – 2.15pm Welcome to Liverpool Hope
2.15pm – 3.15pm How to avoid traffic jams with mathematics
Students will be introduced to mathematical modelling and will tackle the problem of how to model the flow of traffic.
3.15pm – 4.15pm A mathematical way to see how diseases spread
We will introduce students to coupled first order ordinary differential equations and show them how to solve these using computational techniques.
4.15pm – 4.30pm Closing Address and Q & A
