Full event details

The field of sports economics first came to prominence in the 1950s and since then much has been written on the subject. When talking about sports economics a distinction can be made between aspects of economics that are specific to sport (the economics of sport) such as the structure of leagues and the impact of policies such as salary caps and restrictions on the mobility of labour from aspects of economics that can be tested using sport (economics through sport) such as discrimination in the labour market and applications of tournament theory. One hour lecture on sports economics.
