This masterclass will provide an overview of the United Nations (UN) and especially the Security Council as the UN’s most powerful body. Starting from the review of the UN’s role in peacekeeping activities around the world, it will engage students in a discussion of the potentials and shortcomings of the UN Security Council, as well as on the question of whether and how it should be reformed.
