The session will provide insights on how combining the fields of Engineering and Medicine, in the new science of Biomedical Engineering, can generate a new range of possibilities to help and enhance human functions. Can you move an object with your mind? Can you articulate an artificial limb with your body signals? Today you can! Starting by exploring signals from human body and how these can tell us about the physiological state of the subjects, the session will develop on some advanced techniques and devices used to replace or improve functions of the body. A fun, engaging and motivating experience to show techniques as Brain Computer Interface to interface devices directly with your brain or Pattern Recognition used in Bionics for myo-electrically controlled prosthetics.
