Full event details

The Discover Sociology Day will explore in depth the study of sociology at The University of Manchester.
The day will consist of an overview of the range of courses, a careers presentation on opportunities following graduation in sociology, a lecture, a tour of the facilities and a choice of workshops from across a range of topics in sociology.
Studying sociology will enable you to see the big picture in terms of how broader social developments affect individual lives, and to understand how we got to where we are today as a society. You’ll be taught by staff members who are specialists in their field, meaning that you will learn about latest developments within sociology. You’ll also be encouraged to use your sociological skills to critically examine contemporary society.
In addition, opportunities for students during university and after graduation will be discussed with staff and current students. This day will give students a real understanding of what it is like to study sociology at The University of Manchester.
