UK Governments have aimed to overcome the lack of participation in higher education and sought to address the “poverty of aspiration”.

This workshop challenges the poverty of aspiration myth and highlights what educational aspirations are in real terms and how they are shaped amongst young people from lower socio- economic backgrounds. It will also explore the parental and school behaviours that are associated with high aspiring and successful young people.
