This taster day is aimed at inspiring and enthusing year 7 and 8 students in science and natural history. All the sessions have been developed to fulfil the National Curriculum standards for key stage 3 and are taught jointly by staff at the Powell Cotton Museum and CCCU ecologists. Topics covered are:
Evolution and adaptations
Reproduction in mammals and the importance of genetics
Sessions will take place at the museum which boasts one of the most extensive natural history collections in Europe. Students will take part in 2 learning activities, have access to the new interactive teaching room where they can handle real artefacts, explore the grounds and the extensive displays.
There are 60 places available on each day for year 7 and/or 8 pupils.
