Full event details

Our open days are designed to give you real insight into the Manchester student experience. You can find out more about courses you are interested in, meet some of our current students and staff, explore our campus, and gather useful information on key issues such as accommodation and student finance.

Sessions and activities include:

Student Experience Exhibition
Held in our Grade II-listed Whitworth Hall – where you might participate in a graduation ceremony in years to come – our Student Experience Exhibition provides information about our main student services. This includes advice on careers, finance, accommodation, disability support, the University Library and study abroad.

Subject-specific sessions and exhibition stands
Gathering information about the courses you are interested in is a crucial part of your open day. We recommend that you plan your day around your preferred subject sessions. Most sessions are held more than once during the day.
Sessions may include a presentation, a formal or informal talk, questions and answers, demonstrations and perhaps a tour of facilities. For some sessions you will need to book your place in advance; others operate on a first-come-first-served basis.
You can also visit relevant academic School exhibition stands, situated around the campus, where a member of staff or student ambassador will answer your questions about your chosen subject area.

General information sessions
These talks offer insight into what you can expect as a Manchester student. Topics include general introductions to Manchester, the University, our accommodation, student finance and student life.

Campus tours
Tours of our campus operate throughout the day on a first-come-first-served basis, and take in the University’s Main Campus. They are very popular, so be warned that you may need to queue (outside) at peak times.
