The Department of the History of Art and Archaeology is internationally unique in its broad coverage of the visual arts, architecture and material culture of Asia and Africa. We are confident that no other British, European or American university can provide the range of teaching and research interests we now offer for the study of Asian and African art.

SOAS, University of London is the only Higher Education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. Uniquely combining language scholarship, disciplinary expertise and regional focus, it has the largest concentration in Europe of academic staff concerned with Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

In this half-day taster programme you will learn about some of the historical artistic traditions of these regions during workshops and lectures taken by renowned experts in the field. You will also have opportunities to ask questions and find out more about the study of the History of Art and Archaeology at SOAS.

Duration: Half day (2pm - 5pm)

Course Requirements: This taster course is open to year 11, 12 and 13 students as well as anyone considering starting their undergraduate studies in September 2016.
