The Department of Music at SOAS is the largest and leading centre in Europe for the study of World Music, located in the heart of a city famous for its thriving and diverse musical cultures.

SOAS, University of London is the only Higher Education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. Uniquely combining language scholarship, disciplinary expertise and regional focus, it has the largest concentration in Europe of academic staff concerned with Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

In this half-day taster programme you will learn about some of the fascinating musical traditions of these regions during workshops and lectures taken by renowned experts in the field. You will also have opportunities to ask questions and find out more about the study of Music at SOAS.

Duration: Half day (2pm - 5pm)

Course Requirements: This taster course is open to year 11, 12 and 13 students as well as anyone considering starting their undergraduate studies in September 2016.
