Full event details

We run regular campus visits for student groups throughout the year.

The programme of activities includes:
A welcome presentation;
A 'day in the life' presentation by a current student;
A guide to choosing and applying to university;
A question-and-answer session with a panel of our current students;
group discussions with a student ambassador;
A guided tour of our campus led by a current student.

The welcome presentation provides information relating to our academic history and reputation, social facilities, support facilities, accommodation and the city of Manchester, as well as more general information on higher education.

The campus tour takes in our Students' Union, The University of Manchester Library, the Old Quadrangle (the oldest part of the University), some of our teaching buildings, the University Precinct Centre and Manchester Aquatics Centre.

Arrange your visit
If you would like to arrange a visit for your students, we would be happy to facilitate this on any of the afternoons listed below (availability permitting). There is a sample programme outline below and further details will be made available after you have made a booking reservation and received a confirmation email from our Undergraduate Recruitment and Widening Participation Team. Please note that there may be other school/college groups in attendance, as we need a minimum of 25 students to run a session.

If you cannot attend one of our scheduled campus visits for school and college groups,
alternatively, your school group is welcome to join one of our guided visits for the public.

Guided visits for the public take place every Wednesday during our busiest times (November to March) and twice a month at less busy times (April to October). The tour begins at 1.30pm and ends at 3pm at our Visitors' Centre on Oxford Road. It includes a presentation on the University and a tour of our campus led by a current student.
Please note that we cannot modify or add extra presentations to these dates, as they will also be attended by members of the public.
